Man died playing Russian roulette with friend

Police are investigating the death of a father-of-three who had apparently been playing Russian roulette. Emergency services were called to a house on Hogg Avenue in Johnstone, Renfrewshire, on Saturday following a "firearms" incident.

Alan McWilliams, 41, was found seriously injured and taken to hospital for treatment but died on Sunday. Mr McWilliams had reportedly been playing the game with a friend when the firearm went off. Strathclyde Police said they were treating the death as "unexplained".

A spokesman said: "Detectives are carrying out extensive inquiries following the death of a man in Johnstone at the weekend. Around 8.30pm on Saturday March 2 2013, officers were called to a report of a man with a firearm within a house in Hogg Avenue, Johnstone.

"Emergency services attended and the 41-year-old man was taken to the Southern General Hospital. Unfortunately, the man died in hospital on Sunday. A post-mortem examination will be carried out to establish the exact circumstances of the death and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."

I can't help but feel that perhaps one shouldn't be playing Russian roulette when one has young dependents...??

If you play Russian roulette with someone, that someone most certainly cannot be called your friend.
